We founded Solidarity Aid e.V. in January 2025, but our connection to Ukraine began long before. 

Our involvement in fundraising started in 2022, just weeks after the full-scale invasion. That’s when Gaudenz reconnected with Anna, a friend from their exchange semester in Madrid. Learning about the volunteer efforts led by Anna, her family, and friends, he began raising funds among his network in Germany. 

Over time, fundraising became more than a habit—it became a mission. The rest of our team got to know Anna and her friends in Ukraine, eventually meeting her in Germany. Seeing their dedication firsthand strengthened our commitment to supporting Ukraine’s volunteer movement. 

This is why we founded Solidarity Aid e.V.—to make our support stronger, more structured, and more impactful.
